Adaptive Model Predictive Control for Fire Incidents in Water Distribution Networks

چکیده
The real-time control of water distribution networks for firefighting is an important but little-studied problem. Water utilities in England and Wales reduce hydraulic pressure to a minimum regulatory threshold order leakage avoid financial penalties. However, are not legally bound guarantee specific flow rates from fire hydrants, which poses risk firefighting. This study presents adaptive nonlinear model predictive scheme integrating two modes control: (1) normal control, when network operates under conditions the objective minimize energy costs average zonal pressure, (2) flows need be delivered hydrants without exceeding maximum customer demand maintained best extent possible. proposed applied operational network. It demonstrates combined benefits reducing with increased flows.

Robust Adaptive Predictive Control of Water Distribution in Irrigation Canals
Applying automatic control methods to irrigation canals is a way to improve the management of irrigation systems. The dynamic difficulties that involved this hydraulic systems such as non-linearity, varying time delay, and uncontrolled perturbations make the choice of a suitable automatic control method a challenge. To this purpose, this paper presents a methodology for design of decentralized ...
متن کاملAdaptive Simplified Model Predictive Control with Tuning Considerations
Model predictive controller is widely used in industrial plants. Uncertainty is one of the critical issues in real systems. In this paper, the direct adaptive Simplified Model Predictive Control (SMPC) is proposed for unknown or time varying plants with uncertainties. By estimating the plant step response in each sample, the controller is designed and the controller coefficients are directly ca...
متن کاملA Self-adaptive Predictive Congestion Control Model for Extreme Networks
To combine the design strategies of both preventive control and reactive control, a self-adaptive predictive congestion control model for extreme networks is proposed. First, a model is employed to predict the data traffic. Then the reference trajectory of the traffic is updated, and thereafter transmission flow is adjusted according to the prediction results by optimization of a performance in...
متن کاملChance-Constrained Model Predictive Control for Drinking Water Networks
This paper addresses a chance-constrained model predictive control (CC-MPC) strategy for the management of drinking water networks (DWNs) based on a finite horizon stochastic optimisation problem with joint probabilistic (chance) constraints. In this approach, water demands are considered additive stochastic disturbances with non-stationary uncertainty description, unbounded support and known (...
